The "Echoes of A Thousand Years on the Cities: Photographic Exhibition of Chinese Grotto Art" has opened at the Caoxi Lecture Hall of Nanhua Temple in Shaoguan, Guangdong Province.

Hosted by Nanhua Temple, the exhibition presents a millennium-long visual journey through China's grotto art traditions. It unfolds across five themes: the Buddhist sounds of the Western Regions, the artistic legacy of the Hexi Corridor, the grandeur of imperial grottoes, the folk aesthetics of the Bashu region (Chongqing and Sichuan), and the distinctive artistic charm of western Xizang.
The exhibition runs from May 21 to December 31, 2026, and is free and open to the public.
