Dreams in seasons: CIAC exhibition opens in Guangzhou

A major showcase of contemporary Chinese illustration is now on view in Guangzhou, bringing together award-winning works from China and overseas. The exhibition of winning works from the 4th China Illustration Annual Competition (CIAC) highlights emerging and established illustrators whose works combine Chinese cultural identity with modern storytelling.

Held at the Guangzhou People's Art Center, the exhibition presents 146 prize-winning entries selected from nearly 10,000 submissions. Visitors can see a rich variety of styles, ranging from ink-inspired works rooted in tradition and reinterpretations of folk narratives to contemporary urban themes and emotional portraiture.

The exhibition follows a seasonal theme—spring, summer, autumn and winter—symbolizing the four editions of the competition and the evolving journey of Chinese illustration. A special retrospective corridor displays nearly 100 award-winning works from previous CIAC editions.
