Art transforms a Guangzhou village into open-air gallery

A month-long art exhibition is transforming Jiasongling Village, in Guangzhou's Zengcheng District, into an open-air art gallery.

Running from July 8 to August 8, the exhibition, themed "Unexpected Daily Scenery," features 45 groups of artworks by 27 artists from countries including China, Finland, Denmark, Portugal and France.

Six of the art installations will remain in the village as permanent public artworks after the event.

According to organizers, the exhibition represents a significant exploration of "rural revitalization through art." By restoring vacant ancestral halls, bringing in international creative resources and engaging local villagers, the initiative aims at improving rural cultural spaces and creating new aesthetic experiences and social connections.

The organizers plan to develop the project into an open platform that consistently draws enterprises, artists and designers to rural areas, making collaborative creation part of daily life and weaving art into the fabric of the countryside.

Address: Jiasongling Village, Zengcheng District, Guangzhou (广州市增城区佳松岭村)
