Three 'Vampire' stars share stage for first time in Shenzhen

Shenzhen is set to host a historic gathering of German-language musical legends. Mark Seibert, Jan Ammann, and Drew Sarich—all of whom have played the lead role of Count von Krolock in the classic musical "Tanz der Vampire" ("Dance of the Vampires")—will perform together for the first time in China.

The concert, billed as "The 3 Vampires," marks their debut joint performance, bringing together three iconic voices for what has been described as a "night of German-Austrian musical royalty."

First premiering in Vienna in 1997, "Tanz der Vampire" features music by Jim Steinman and book and lyrics by Michael Kunze. Since its debut, the musical has been adapted into English, French, Hungarian, Russian, Japanese, and other languages.

The Shenzhen concert not only brings together three actors who have each embodied the enigmatic Count von Krolock but also offers a condensed presentation of the golden age of German-language musical theater. Beyond iconic numbers from the vampire musical, the trio will also perform selections from other classics such as "Elisabeth," "Mozart!" and "Dracula."

Together, the three artists span a remarkable vocal range—from Seibert's tragic intensity and commanding presence, to Ammann's warm and deep baritone, to Sarich's destructive, explosive power that seems to ignite the stage. Each maintains a uniquely irreplaceable style in the musical world. On this night, audiences will not only witness the three "Counts" performing together but also experience each artist's original music and solo stage pieces—making every performance exclusive to this evening.

In addition to the three stars, the concert will feature special guest Nienke Latten, a Dutch musical actress who has performed in "West Side Story," "Aladdin," "Jesus Christ Superstar," and "Rebecca." Her presence adds another layer of talent to an already extraordinary lineup.
