On July 16, the vessel Ren Jian 8 departed from the Nansha Port Area of Guangzhou Port, marking the official launch of the first direct express shipping route from Guangzhou to the U.S. West Coast. The new route enables cargo to reach the Port of Los Angeles in just 14 days.
The first ship on the route carries over 600 containers of "Made in China" daily consumer goods. Operated by Hede Shipping, the route deploys five vessels on a weekly schedule, traveling from the Port of Nansha (CNNSA) to the West Basin Container Terminal (WBCT) in Los Angeles.
Guangzhou’s maritime authorities collaborated with businesses to accelerate port entry and inspection procedures for the inaugural voyage, using digital tools and green channels to enhance clearance efficiency.
The launch of this route significantly shortens the shipping time between Nansha and the U.S. West Coast, effectively reducing overall logistics costs for businesses and providing strong support for cross-border e-commerce and the manufacturing sector in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
In 2025, Nansha Port added eight new international container shipping routes, bringing the total number of foreign trade routes to over 170.
