With Guangzhou's pleasant spring weather at its peak, the Jiunanhaixian Community in Liurong Subdistrict, Yuexiu District, offers an ideal setting for an urban walk.

This century-old neighborhood, tucked behind Zhongshan Sixth Road, was honored with the Excellence Award in the Humanistic Care Category at the 2025 (3rd) LA Landscape Architecture Awards—a prestigious recognition in China's landscape architecture field. It was the only community project to receive an award that year.

Visitors can explore Republican-era red-brick buildings adorned with greenery grown by residents, alongside more than 20 coffee shops integrated into the historic architecture. Historical landmarks include a century-old well and the former Guangzhou branch of Ta Kung Pao.

This spring, the neighborhood offers a blend of historic charm, community-driven greenery, and a relaxed pace of life in the heart of the city.
