On June 1, a tourist multi-trip rail pass was officially launched, offering travelers heading to Shanwei a more affordable and flexible travel option.
The pass allows passengers to choose trips between designated departure and destination stations. Eligible stations include Guangzhou, Guangzhou East, Guangzhou Xintang, Guangzhou South, Shenzhen North, Chaoshan, Raoping, Shantou, Jieyang, Puning, Shanwei, Lufeng, Meizhou West, Longchuan West, Heyuan East, and Huizhou North, covering 16 stations in total. Passengers may purchase packages of two to ten trips based on their travel needs. Each trip is valid for one one-way journey in the designated seat class.
Under the purchase policy, passengers may buy the product with real-name credentials through the 12306 website or the Railway 12306 app. The same traveler may purchase multiple products. The pass must be activated by taking the first trip within 30 days of the purchase date. If no trip is taken within that period, the product will expire automatically, and the full amount will be refunded. Once activated, the pass is non-refundable. It remains valid for 15 days from the date of the first trip.
The pass is valid only for the designated passenger, origin-destination stations, and seat class selected at the time of purchase. Passengers may not board or alight at intermediate stations, travel beyond the designated stations, or switch to another seat class.
Passengers may reserve seats in advance through the 12306 website, the Railway 12306 app, or self-service ticketing machines. For each trip segment, a passenger may hold only one unused seat reservation at a time. If travel plans change, reserved seats should be canceled before departure free of charge. A reservation that is not canceled before departure will be counted as one used trip.
