Spring all around: Zhongshan bursts with floral charm

Spring's charm is often found in its blossoms. As warm breezes return and fresh greenery emerges, Zhongshan bursts into color with flowers blooming across the city.

Kapok

Where to see them: Xishan Park (西山公园), Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall Park (孙中山纪念堂公园), Jiangbin West Road (江滨西路), Kanghua Road (康华路), Shiqi Cultural Park (石岐文化公园), Yixian Lake Park (逸仙湖公园)

Nothing announces the arrival of spring more boldly than the fiery red kapok. It blooms all at once, setting the sky ablaze—a powerful splash of red unique to Lingnan's spring.

Weeping Bottlebrush

Where to see them: Shiqi Cultural Park (石岐文化公园), Yixian Lake Park (逸仙湖公园)

In contrast to the kapok's intensity, the weeping bottlebrush offers a softer charm. Its delicate, tassel-like blooms sway gently in the breeze, adding a touch of lightness to the season.

Bauhinia

Where to see them: Taiping Road (太平路), South Gate of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (电子科技大学中山学院-南门), Zhongshan Institute, Yixian Lake Park (逸仙湖公园)

Clusters of pink and white bauhinia flowers resemble drifting clouds. As petals fall with the spring breeze, they create a fleeting yet graceful scene.

Bougainvillea

Where to see them: Tingzixia Street (亭子下大街), South Gate of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Zhongshan Institute (电子科技大学中山学院-南门)

Bright and vibrant, bougainvillea spills over walls and railings, forming cascading "flower waterfalls" that bring lively color to the streets.

From bold reds to soft pastels, Zhongshan's spring blossoms paint the city in vivid hues—inviting visitors to step outside and enjoy the season in full bloom.
