Guangzhou Chimelong Water Park unveils five continents-themed zones

Guangzhou Chimelong Water Park officially launched its 2026 summer season on April 17, unveiling a new "Super Global Water Circle" concept that brings five continent-themed aquatic experiences into a single destination. The park's original IP character, a giant panda named "Meizhu," also made its debut as a new water-amusement landmark.

The seasonal opening introduces visitors to distinct zones inspired by Southeast Asia, Western Europe, the Amazon rainforest, Latin America, and Hawaii. Each zone features region-specific décor, performances, and activities designed to recreate a round-the-world water adventure without requiring long-haul travel.

"In 2026, we are introducing the Super Global Water Circle, integrating water-amusement atmospheres from five continents into the park with new scenic settings, equipment, and entertainment," said Wu Daming, general manager of Guangzhou Chimelong Water Park. "Three world-class signature attractions have also returned with upgrades, offering a balance of thrills and family-friendly fun."

The Southeast Asia zone showcases Thai-style dance performances. In Western Europe zone, brass band music accompanies Mediterranean-style bubble shows. The Amazon rainforest section offers yoga sessions for relaxation, while the Latin zone features samba parties, floating stages, and aqua Zumba. The Hawaii zone is designed for families, featuring hula dance events and a dedicated water-amusement zone for children.

On opening day, visitor turnout was high. Mr. Wang, a guest traveling with his family, said, "We come to Chimelong Water Park every summer. This year's five-continent theme feels fresh. My child went to one game three times, still does not want to leave."

Three signature rides have been refreshed for the season. The "Storm Duplex" is a family raft ride featuring a hive-like spiral slide complex and holds the record as the world's tallest combination funnel slide. "Sky Surfer" returns with a height of 33 meters and a slide path of 260 meters, now incorporating the HIVE spiral design. The "Magnetic Cannon Water Coaster," the world's first electromagnetic-launch water ride, accelerates riders to 11 meters per second along a nearly 500-meter-long track.

The park's water EDM festival will also return this summer. In January 2026, the "Chimelong Water EDM Festival" was listed in the second batch of China's National Tourism Performance Catalog by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, becoming the only one from Guangdong Province entitled in that round.

According to data from the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA), Guangzhou Chimelong Water Park has ranked first globally in annual attendance among water parks every year since 2013 and continues to hold both the total and daily attendance records for water parks worldwide.

The park operates more than 70 water attractions, including the three flagship rides, the five continent-themed zones, and numerous family-oriented facilities. Discounted admission tickets start at 89 yuan and are now on sale for the summer season.
