Huizhou coastline guide | Route 1: Family-friendly seaside escape

In the sweltering summer heat, Huizhou's coastline offers a refreshing escape with clear waters, sandy beaches and beautiful coastal scenery. Whether you are looking for a relaxing family trip, a photogenic getaway or a quiet retreat into nature, there is a route to suit every taste.

Family-friendly relaxing seaside route

Mozishi Park (磨子石公园)

Mozishi Park features unusual rocks formed hundreds of millions of years ago, creating a unique coastal landscape. Follow the seaside trails, listen to the waves and enjoy the rocks and ocean views along the way.

Jinyintan Beach (金银滩)

Jinyintan Beach is known for its clear, calm waters and soft sands. Kids can build sandcastles, splash in the shallows and chase the waves while parents kick back on the beach and enjoy the sea breeze.

Xunliao Coastal Park (巽寮赶海公园)

Small buckets, shovels and gloves are all children need here. On the gentle tidal flats, they can dig for white clams, catch tiny crabs and collect conchs, turning a day at the beach into a hands-on marine life adventure.

Tianhou Temple Pedestrian Street (天后宫岭南民俗文化街)

With free entry and no reservation required, this cultural and leisure destination blends Lingnan charm, Hakka culture and maritime heritage. Visitors can sample affordable seaside snacks such as fish ball soup and put chai ko (steamed glutinous rice cakes).

Shuangyue Bay Viewing Platform (双月湾观景台)

One of Huizhou's iconic viewpoints, the platform looks out over two crescent-shaped bays that give Shuangyue, or "double moon," its name. The left bay is calm and sheltered, while the right bay faces the open sea, with rolling waves crashing against the shore.

Huidong Sea Turtle National Nature Reserve (惠东海龟国家级自然保护区)

The reserve offers a fun and educational family outing, with adult turtles and hatchlings, marine science exhibits and a cliffside coastal boardwalk. Its best-known landmark is Huixian Bridge (会仙桥), a popular spot for family photos overlooking the sea.

More coastal adventures await in Huizhou. Stay tuned for the next route featuring photogenic seaside spots and popular destinations.
