Visitors can enjoy immersive urban leisure experiences without travelling far out of the city. Here are our curated events to enrich your holiday.

Over 50 themed events: Grandview Mall celebrates grassroots art

Grandview Mall has kicked off an art carnival that will run through the National Day holiday, transforming the mall into an expansive public-art venue where art is brought out of galleries to the general public.

At its north plaza stand monumental installations built from roughly 50 to 60 tonnes of repurposed waste materials, including drink cans, tyres and fishing nets. Open to the public free of charge, these artworks reimagine discarded items as post-apocalyptic scenery. It is a popular photo spot for visitors snapping social-media-worthy holiday shots.

The multi-month art carnival, themed on making everyone an artist, will host more than 50 themed events spanning acrobatics, folk theatre, music, drama, magic, circus performances and light shows. Art is made accessible to all, with no high-brow entry barriers.

Grandview Mall has also scouted talented amateur artists from across the city. During the National Day holiday, these grassroots performers will stage multiple daily shows in the ground-floor public zone. Visitors may stumble upon live music, dance, street theatre, juggling, magic, performance art, interactive creations and intangible-cultural-heritage demonstrations while strolling through the mall. Catch down-to-earth acts and feel the vitality of China's folk art.
