Recently, an outdoor alpine ski resort project has officially landed in Lianzhou, Qingyuan. The project is planned to break ground in March 2027 and be completed by the end of November 2028. It will fill the gap in Guangdong's standardized alpine skiing market.
The project calls for an outdoor alpine ski resort to be built in Datan Village, Sanshui Yao Ethnic Township, Lianzhou City, with a total planned snowmaking area of more than 100,000 square meters and eight ski runs, including four beginner runs, three intermediate runs and one practice run. The total length of the ski runs is about 2.67 kilometers, with an effective maximum vertical drop of 181 meters. Supporting facilities such as cable car gondolas and a visitor service center will also be built.
Lianzhou is a prominent tourist city in northern Guangdong. Every winter, snow falls in its high-altitude mountainous areas, making it a popular destination for Guangdong tourists to enjoy the snow.
