4th National Light Aircraft Championship 2026 kicks off in Qingyuan

The 4th National Light Aircraft Championship 2026 kicked off on April 9 in Qingyuan. As one of China's most prestigious and influential light aviation events, it has drawn 28 top-tier flight crews and 75 veteran pilots from across the country.

A diverse lineup of domestic and international light-sport aircraft is on display, ranging from self-developed models and classic imports to cutting-edge electric aircraft—showcasing the sector's advancing innovation and technological prowess.

Domestic models featured include the Sunward SA 60L/SA 70L Aurora, CAIGA AG60, DLE DL-2L, Hunan Xianglong XL100, and the Liaoning Ruixiang RX1E-A. They are joined by international classics such as the Jabiru J230-D, Flight Design CTLS, and Cessna 172S Skyhawk.

The RX1E-A stands out as China's only certified electric light-sport aircraft approved for commercial operation. Developed with independent intellectual property rights and 100% locally sourced core components, the model is widely utilized for pilot training and introductory flights, boasting over 25,000 safe flight hours.

The event fills a gap in Guangdong's light-aircraft competitive calendar while highlighting Qingyuan's proficiency in airspace coordination, flight support, and large-scale event management. Additionally, the 2026 Aviation Nomad Season · Flying Carnival is set to begin on April 11.
