Nestled along the Dongping River in Foshan's Nanhai District, Guicheng Eco-Island Park offers a perfect blend of nature and recreation—and admission is completely free.
As a wetland park, its most distinctive feature lies in its water system. The park's main waterways are all fed by living water drawn directly from the Dongping River. After flowing through a micro-ecosystem of streams and wetlands for natural filtration, the water is channeled back into the river—creating a continuous and self-sustaining ecological cycle.

The park is rich with scenic highlights. The circular boardwalk and sky corridor offer panoramic views, with railings angled to reflect the phases of the moon. The Lake Island Plaza provides another peaceful vantage point overlooking the water.

For families, the space-themed children's area is a major draw. Its centerpiece—a giant flying saucer—doubles as a climbing structure and viewing platform, surrounded by a splash pool for warm-weather fun. The park also preserves shaded bamboo groves and a sunny beach beneath the boardwalk, giving kids plenty of room to explore and play.

With on-site parking and wide-open green spaces, Guicheng Eco-Island Park is also a favored spot for free riverside camping. Pack a tent, lay out a picnic mat, and bring along some snacks to soak in the leisurely moments surrounded by greenery.
