To the joy of local residents, the amusement area in Zhongshan Park reopened on May 6 after more than five years. As the only amusement area within a public park in Nanshan, its facilities had been cherished memories for those who grew up there in the early 2000s.

The carousel appeals to all age groups.

Tucked into the southeast corner of the park, which is adjacent to Nantou Ancient Town, the area still features the pirate ship as its centerpiece. The revamped zone now offers 23 attractions, including bumper cars, a drop tower, and a carousel. The mini train remains a popular choice, and the rapids ride adds a thrilling option. The only original ride removed is the mini Ferris wheel.

Children can exercise at the playground.

A 99-yuan ticket covers all 23 experiences, and individual ride charges are lower than comparable ones at the Children's Park in Longgang District.

The playground opens free to the public.

Since children under 1.2 meters tall are not permitted on many thrill rides, the park also features a playground where young children can exercise and have fun. The slides, ladders, swings, and sandpits are free and open to the public — no reservation is needed.
