Spring in bloom: Three rapeseed flower fields open to visitors in Dongguan

As spring breezes bring warmer weather, three major rapeseed flower fields in Dongguan, south China's Guangdong Province, have entered their peak viewing season. All are open to the public free of charge; residents and visitors are invited to experience a golden sea of blooms.

Lotus Industrial Park, Qiaotou Town (桥头镇荷花产业园)

Covering about 4.1 hectares, the rapeseed flowers are now in full bloom, creating rolling waves of gold across the landscape, with peak viewing expected to last until late February. To enrich the scenery, cosmos flowers and bougainvillea are interspersed throughout the park. The site features viewing platforms, family-friendly activity areas, and rural-themed photo spots, making it ideal for outings.

Deben Garden, Huangchong Village, Zhongtang Town (中堂镇潢涌村德本田园)

Golden rapeseed flowers blend with colorful cosmos flowers to create a richly layered countryside landscape. The flowering period is expected to last until mid-March. The site is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Temporary parking is available within the village, and the site is accessible via Dongguan bus routes 610 and 65, with stops at Datan Road (大坦路).

Qihang Square, Shijie Town (石碣镇起航广场)

Expanses of rapeseed flowers contrast beautifully with reddish-brown bald cypresses, winding greenways, and scenic pavilions, creating a vibrant seasonal panorama. An exhibition of award-winning works from the Shijie Photography Contest is also on display. Strawberry picking is available nearby, offering additional family-friendly experiences. The flowers are gradually blooming, with the best viewing period expected from late February to mid-March. Nearby parking is available at Shijie Innovation Technology Park (石碣创新科技园) and surrounding streets, including Lianxing Street (联兴街), Sixing Street (四兴街), and Gongyuan Road (公园路).
