As winter cloaks much of the landscape in muted tones, Shantou has preserved its most vivid burst of color. The city's bald cypress is now adorned in rich, caramel hues, marking the arrival of what locals have fondly termed the "Maillard Season," a warm and romantic transition into the cooler months.

In Jinsha Park (金砂公园), the scene resembles a moist oil painting. The waters of Jinchun Lake reflect the stunning redwoods and traditional pavilions, cradling them in a gentle, watery embrace. Visitors can stroll along the lakeside, watch leaves spiral downward, and observe the tranquil dance of shadows and light on the water.

A short ten-minute drive from Jinsha Park leads to Zhongshan Park (中山公园), where classical architecture frames the shores of Yujian Lake (玉鉴湖), complemented by the striking bald cypress. The journey culminates at Bojia Sports Park (柏嘉运动公园), a sunlit retreat where pathways meander through tree shadows toward brilliant red groves. Here, the trees stand tall, glowing from crown to root, bright, bold, and bathed in unobstructed sunshine.

The viewing period, lasting through mid-to-late January, is now at its peak. For those planning a visit, attire in beige, brown, or light gray complements the warm backdrop perfectly, and an afternoon start is recommended to capture the soft, golden light.
