Swallow Rock, Lianhua Mountain, Guangzhou

At Swallow Rock in Lianhua Mountain in Guangzhou, an ancient quarry has transformed into a serene landscape of striking beauty. Towering cliffs stand above clear green waters, their reddish surfaces softened by trailing vines and lush vegetation. Once a stone quarry of the ancient Nanyue people over 2,000 years ago, it now blends human history with nature's quiet restoration—where old chisel marks meet living greenery.

The site dates back to the Nanyue (204-111 BC) period, when the Nanyue people lived in the Lingnan region (a region in southern China covering Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Hong Kong and Macao). They were known for their distinctive regional culture and early craftsmanship in South China.
