Much of China is forecast to experience clear weather for the final two days of the May Day holiday. However, rainfall is expected to persist in southern coastal regions, according to the national meteorological authority.

Guangdong is forecast to receive moderate to heavy rain through May 5, with localised downpours and thunderstorm activity in some areas.
Southern China is expected to experience a new round of rainfall progressing from west to east from the evening of May 6 and lasting through May 8. Moderate to heavy rainfall is forecast across regions, including eastern parts of the southwest region, much of the Yangtze River basin, and southern China, with some areas experiencing thunderstorms and gusty winds.
The meteorological authority advised travellers in affected areas to monitor local warnings, avoid mountain valleys and low-lying zones, and check weather conditions before setting out. Campers were reminded to fasten their tents securely, keep away from water during thunderstorms, and stay vigilant to changing conditions.
