Guangdong sees gradual temperature rise after cold spell

As the influence of the recent cold wave weakens, temperatures across Guangdong are expected to stop falling and gradually rise starting January 23.

The provincial meteorological observatory forecasts cloudy to sunny weather from daytime January 23 to January 24, with light morning mist and significant temperature differences between day and night. On January 25, most cities and counties will experience cloudy skies, with light rain or fog in some areas. Despite the warming trend, mornings and evenings will remain cold, and residents are advised to dress in layers.

Detailed weather forecast for Guangdong:

On January 24, southern parts of the Pearl River Delta and eastern Guangdong will experience overcast skies with scattered light rain, while other areas will be cloudy to sunny. Minimum temperatures will range from 3–6°C in northern Guangdong, with possible frost in some areas; 6–9°C in parts of northern and eastern Guangdong and the eastern Pearl River Delta; 13–17°C on the Leizhou Peninsula; and 9–12°C in most other areas.

On January 25, the Leizhou Peninsula will be partly cloudy, while most other areas will be overcast with light rain. Minimum temperatures will be 7–10°C in northern Guangdong, 14–18°C on the Leizhou Peninsula, and 10–13°C elsewhere.
