Hot weather is expected to intensify across Guangdong over the next few days as 3 typhoons remain active over the western Pacific. While none is expected to make landfall in the province, their circulation will contribute to rising temperatures.

Typhoon Kujira and Typhoon Chan-hom both developed on August 5. They joined Typhoon Dolphin, which has been active for more than a week. According to forecasts from China's National Meteorological Center, Typhoon Kujira is expected to move toward the Philippines, Typhoon Chan-hom toward Japan and Typhoon Dolphin toward China's eastern coast.
Although Guangdong is unlikely to be directly impacted or receive widespread rainfall from the typhoons, forecasters said sinking air on the outskirts of Typhoon Dolphin will bring hotter conditions to the province.
On August 6 and 7, northern and western Guangdong will be cloudy, with scattered showers or thunderstorms, and some areas are likely to see heavy rain. Elsewhere, skies will be mostly cloudy to sunny. Daytime highs will range from 30°C to 33°C in western Guangdong and 34°C to 37°C elsewhere.
On August 8, most parts of Guangdong are expected to be sunny to partly cloudy, with isolated showers or thunderstorms. Highs will range from 34°C to 37°C provincewide, with local peaks at 38°C.
