Cooler weather follows heavy storms across Guangdong

Grab your umbrellas and maybe a light jacket, as unsettled weather ramps up across Guangdong from April 23!

The provincial meteorological department is tracking a wave of severe convective weather moving through the region. Guangdong is currently experiencing heavy to torrential rain, with some areas bracing for localized downpours. Some cities are even reporting thunderstorms, hail, and gales of up to force 8 to 10.

A weak cold air mass accompanying the rain is pushing daytime highs down to a refreshing 22°C to 26°C on April 23 and April 24.

On April 23, cities like Guangzhou, Huizhou, Heyuan, Zhaoqing, and Maoming are under overcast skies with significant rainfall. On April 24, the heavy rain is expected to shift toward western Guangdong and the southern Pearl River Delta before conditions start to ease on April 25.
