At around 8:05 a.m. on August 28, Typhoon Saudel, the 18th typhoon of the year, made landfall along the coast of Kanmen Subdistrict in Yuhuan, Taizhou, Zhejiang Province, at typhoon strength.

The typhoon's impact will continue. Under the influence of Typhoon Saudel's circulation, parts of northern Guangdong are expected to see torrential to exceptionally heavy rain this weekend. Residents are advised to take precautions.
According to the Guangdong Meteorological Service, from the night of August 28 to August 30, Typhoon Saudel's circulation will bring heavy rain to northern Guangdong and the southern coastal areas, with local torrential to exceptionally heavy rain.
On August 28, Meizhou and northern Heyuan, the central and southern parts of the Pearl River Delta and western Guangdong will see moderate thunderstorms, with local heavy to torrential rain. Other areas will experience scattered showers or thunderstorms.
On August 29, Shaoguan, Qingyuan and northern Zhaoqing will see heavy rain, with local torrential to exceptionally heavy rain, while the southern coastal areas will experience moderate to heavy rain, with local torrential rain.
On August 30, western Guangdong will see heavy rain, with local torrential rain, while other areas will experience showers or thunderstorms, with local heavy rain.
August 28 will be cloudy to sunny in Guangzhou, with isolated showers or thunderstorms, and temperatures ranging from 27°C to 33°C. From August 29 to August 30, the city will be cloudy with moderate thunderstorms, with temperatures ranging from 27°C to 32°C.
