Guangdong has been sweltering under a heat wave in recent days. Will the high temperatures persist in the coming days?
According to the National Meteorological Center, a strong cold air mass will affect China from September 29 to October 1, bringing temperature drops of 4℃ to 8℃ to areas south of the Yangtze River and regions further north. Some parts of Inner Mongolia could see temperatures fall by around 10℃.
The cooling effect in Guangdong, however, remains to be seen. The Guangdong Meteorological Observatory forecasts that high temperatures will persist across the province ahead of the National Day holiday.
Weather forecast for Guangdong
On September 29, western Guangdong will be cloudy with scattered short-duration (thunder) showers, while most other areas will be cloudy to sunny with isolated (thunder) showers. Highs will range from 31°C to 33°C in southern areas and 34°C to 36°C elsewhere.
On September 30, the northernmost parts of northern Guangdong will see cloudy skies followed by scattered (thunder) showers, while most other areas will be cloudy to sunny with isolated (thunder) showers.
The public are advised to take precautions against heatstroke and sun exposure during outdoor activities and stay hydrated.
