With the end of the recent Dragon Boat Rain period, summer heat is making a strong comeback across Guangdong. Over the next few days, peak temperatures are expected to climb further, reaching up to 37°C.

The province is expected to see mostly cloudy skies from June 22 to 24, according to the Guangdong Meteorological Service. Scattered thundershowers are forecast in western and northern Guangdong, where localized storms may bring heavy downpours and convective wind gusts. Meanwhile, days of scorching heat exceeding 35°C will become increasingly frequent.
On June 23, Shaoguan, Qingyuan, and the northern Pearl River Delta are expected to remain cloudy with afternoon thundershowers. Maximum temperatures will range from 31°C to 34°C in Shaoguan, Qingyuan, and southern coastal cities, while other regions will see sweltering highs of 34°C to 37°C.
On June 24, northern Guangdong and the Pearl River Delta are expected to experience moderate afternoon showers, with heavy downpours in isolated areas. Temperatures will remain largely unchanged, with highs ranging from 34°C to 37°C across most parts of the province.

Under the influence of an anticyclonic circulation, Guangzhou is expected to experience mostly cloudy and hot weather over the next three days. However, from June 25 to 30, thundershowers will become highly active in the city, occasionally accompanied by severe convective weather, including short-duration heavy rain and thunderstorm gales.
