Guangdong weather alert: Sharp temperature drop next week

Noticed the recent warm spell? Get ready for a change. A sharp cold snap will hit Guangdong from mid-next week (starting January 21), sending daytime highs plunging into the teens (around 10–19°C).

Guangdong Weather Forecast

Jan 15: Mostly sunny elsewhere, cloudy along the southern coast. Scattered light rain possible in eastern coastal areas. Light morning/evening fog near the Xijiang River basin and western Guangdong.

Lows: Northern Guangdong 7–9 °C, southern coast 13–15 °C, other areas 10–12 °C.

Jan 16: Mostly sunny elsewhere, cloudy in Zhaoqing, Qingyuan, Shaoguan, and along the southern coast. Morning/evening fog near the Xijiang River basin, southern Pearl River Delta coast, and Leizhou Peninsula.

Lows: Northern Guangdong 9–11 °C, southern coast & Leizhou Peninsula 15–18 °C, other areas 12–14 °C.

Jan 17: Mostly sunny elsewhere, cloudy in western Guangdong with isolated light rain. Morning/evening fog in the Xijiang River basin and most of western Guangdong.

Lows: Northern & eastern Guangdong 10–12 °C, Leizhou Peninsula 16–19 °C, other areas 13–15 °C.

Over the next three days, Guangzhou will experience mostly sunny skies with seasonal chill in the mornings and evenings. However, a cold front arrives on January 20, causing a sharp drop. By January 21, lows in the city could plummet to around 7 °C.
