Over 150 road collapse sites cleared in Zhaoqing after heavy rains

Due to continuous heavy rainfall, a landslide occurred on the evening of August 4 near the off-ramp of the Duanzhou Station on the Guangzhou-Foshan-Zhaoqing Expressway, covering the ramp with debris. In response, authorities imposed traffic control measures on both the inbound and outbound ramps at Duanzhou Station.

By the afternoon of August 5, multiple excavators and bulldozers were operating in designated zones at the landslide site to clear the debris.

Across Zhaoqing City, 11 road traffic interruptions were reported due to the extreme weather, of which 6 have been restored, while efforts to reopen the remaining 5 are ongoing. A total of 210 road collapse sites were recorded, with 155 already cleared. The remaining sites have been secured with protective measures, and cleanup operations are being expedited.
