Temperatures rise across Guangdong, with cloudy to sunny skies

The arrival of White Dew, the 15th of the 24 Chinese solar terms, marks the start of cooler autumn days, but Guangdong is set for a brief spell of rising temperatures. From September 7 to September 9, most parts of the province will see cloudy to sunny skies, with occasional showers in some areas.

Temperatures will gradually increase, with highs generally ranging from 32°C to 34°C. Eastern Guangdong will be slightly cooler, with highs of 30°C to 32°C. More sunshine is expected, but hot and humid conditions will persist.

September is also a peak period for typhoons. Two to three typhoons are expected to make landfall in China or exert significant impacts on the country this month, and coastal areas of East and South China are likely to be the most affected. According to the National Meteorological Center, one to two tropical disturbances may develop over the South China Sea and the Northwest Pacific in the next 10 days, bringing strong winds and heavy rain to parts of South China.
