Commuters in parts of Guangdong are advised to exercise caution as moderate to heavy rain is expected to impact the morning rush hour over the next three days, according to the Guangdong Meteorological Service.

From May 19 to May 20, cities and counties in central and western Guangdong will experience moderate to heavy rain, with localized heavy downpours or even extreme torrential rain. On May 21, most parts of the province will see moderate thundershowers or occasional heavy rain, with some areas facing torrential downpours.
In addition, from May 20 to 21, thunderstorms in some cities and counties may bring strong winds of up to Force 8 on the Beaufort scale, accompanied by lightning and gusty conditions.
During the morning rush hour on May 19, real-time radar imagery revealed widespread yellow, orange, and green radar echoes covering cities including Maoming, Yangjiang, Yunfu, Zhaoqing, Foshan, Jiangmen, Zhuhai, and Zhongshan, indicating locally intense rainfall. Residents in these areas are advised to take extra precautions when heading out.

Authorities warn that rain will make roads slippery and reduce visibility. Drivers are reminded to turn on their headlights, control their speed, maintain a safe distance, and drive with extra care.
Residents are encouraged to stay updated on the latest weather warnings and allow extra travel time during the rainy period.
