Guangdong to see hotter weather as rain eases

After days of heavy rainfall across Guangdong Province, precipitation is expected to weaken from the night of June 29, with hot weather returning to most parts of the province from June 30 to July 1.

According to the National Meteorological Center, one or two tropical cyclones (including tropical depressions) may develop over the South China Sea and the Western Pacific Ocean in the next 10 days, with one system possibly affecting coastal areas of South China. Guangzhou will see increased rainfall again from around July 4 under the influence of the outer circulation of a tropical cyclone.

On June 30, cloudy skies with showers or thunderstorms are expected in Zhaoqing, Qingyuan, Shaoguan, and the northern parts of western Guangdong, with some areas likely to experience heavy rain. Other areas will be mainly cloudy with isolated showers or thunderstorms. Maximum temperatures will range from 30°C to 33°C in Qingyuan, Shaoguan, and the southern coastal areas, except on the Leizhou Peninsula, while other regions across the province will reach 33°C to 36 °C.

On July 1, most parts of Guangdong will remain mainly cloudy with isolated showers or thunderstorms. Maximum temperatures will range from 30°C to 33°C in the southern coastal areas except on the Leizhou Peninsula, and from 33°C to 36°C in the rest of the province.
