ZXMOTO, a fully self-developed Chinese motorcycle brand, has taken the global motorsport spotlight with two dominant victories at the World Superbike Championship (WSBK) Portugal round on March 28–29, highlighting a little-known yet robust network of manufacturing champions including those from Guangdong that underpinned its race-winning performance.

Official figures show that Guangdong accounts for at least 30% of China's total motorcycle exports. And an industrial chain from the province has powered ZXMOTO's WSBK campaign, with its exhaust pipe, helmet, and engine cylinder made in Jiangmen, Guangdong and engine valve produced in the provincial capital Guangzhou.
Notably, half of China's top 10 motorcycle brands are based in Guangdong, collectively holding 30.6% of the country's total motorcycle sales. The province's motorcycle engines are mainly concentrated in two cities, namely Jiangmen in south‑central Guangdong and the provincial capital Guangzhou.

Jiangmen is a major pillar of Guangdong's motorcycle manufacturing sector. In 2025, the city's motorcycle industry recorded an industrial output value of 41.809 billion yuan, with 5.4338 million complete motorcycles produced. With an export value exceeding 21 billion yuan, Jiangmen represents nearly one-quarter of China's total motorcycle exports, with an average annual export growth rate of 30.7% over the past three years.
In Jiangmen, a complete motorcycle can be assembled almost entirely within a single town. In Jiangmen's Duruan Town, for example, more than 300 component suppliers form a full-chain ecosystem covering everything from precision engine parts and cylinder blocks to high-performance suspension systems.

The provincial capital city Guangzhou, meanwhile, leads in professional market scale and global reach. For instance, motorcycle parts markets clustered in Guangzhou’s Baiyun District form one of the largest and most influential motorcycle parts trading hubs both in China and worldwide.
Also, Guangzhou has established a fully integrated motorcycle industry ecosystem, hosting 16 motorcycle manufacturers, over 40 parts producers, and more than 300 motorcycle parts enterprises and traders, the city exports motorcycle products to more than 200 countries and regions across the globe.
In Guangzhou, the motorcycle manufacturing industry has expanded rapidly. In 2025, Guangzhou exported 2.275 million motorcycles, up 20.2% year on year. Of these, 1.933 million were internal combustion engine (ICE) motorcycles, a 20.3% year-on-year increase, accounting for 11% of China’s total ICE motorcycle exports. In effect, one out of every nine ICE motorcycles exported from China originates from Guangzhou.
