Free registration has opened for the 2026 Hengqin Festival, inviting art enthusiasts from the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin and the Macao SAR to take part.
The festival features six categories: singing, instrumental music, dance, painting, calligraphy and original works. It is free of charge and open to people who live, work or study in Hengqin or Macao.
The preliminary rounds will be held at the Hengqin Culture & Art Complex from late August to mid-October.
Applicants must provide valid identification documents. Organizers will check applicants' eligibility before confirming their participation.
A new Senior Category has been introduced this year for people aged 65 and above. Outstanding participants will have the chance to perform at a community cultural event in Hengqin, together with top senior singers from Macao.
Schools, art training centers and community arts groups in Hengqin and Macao are also invited to participate. The festival will confer the Outstanding Organization Award and Best Instructor Award.
To register, participants can scan the QR code of their chosen category and submit their information and supporting documents. Organizers will contact eligible applicants with details of the next steps.
