At the Hong Kong Flower Show 2026, the garden design by the Guangdong–Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin was awarded the Gold Award for Best Design.

On March 20, the flower show opened in full bloom at Victoria Park. Centered around the violet as this year's theme flower and the theme "A Fragrant Journey Through Hong Kong", the 10-day show brings together floral beauty and designs from across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Using flowers and plants as a medium, the Hengqin Garden tells the story of Guangdong-Macao ties. Dominated by shades of purple, pink, and blue, the garden unfolds like a spatial scroll, distilling the regional geography into a landscape microcosm. The largest section at the entrance symbolizes the Chinese mainland, represented by Guangdong Province. The central island corresponds to the Cooperation Zone, while the eastern island reflects Macao.

A circular pathway reflects joint management and shared benefits between Guangdong and Macao. A rope-net installation traces back to Hengqin's fishing village heritage, while also symbolizing its role in "networking" and integrating resources and talent, embracing innovation with openness, and weaving a vital connectivity network.

Diamond-shaped pendants embedded with traditional Chinese medicine seeds and emitting iridescent light are interwoven throughout the garden, symbolizing Hengqin's achievements in traditional Chinese medicine and chip development.
