The second Guangdong-Macao Pop Music Week took place at the Hengqin Culture & Art Complex on May 15 and 16, attracting nearly 2,000 audiences over the two nights, with tens of thousands more tuning in online.
Centred on themes of nostalgia and healing, the event featured a mix of Cantopop classics, contemporary hits, and live band performances. Singers including Karen Tong, Ken Hung and Vincy Chan performed alongside musicians from Guangdong and Macao, with audiences joining in mass singalongs throughout the concerts.
Unlike the inaugural edition last August, which ran for three days and drew nearly 3,000 attendees, this year’s event was moved to the Hengqin Culture & Art Complex, offering a more immersive indoor concert experience with improved acoustics and closer audience interaction.
Tickets for the event were released free of charge and sold out within three days. Concerts were also livestreamed on several local media platforms, allowing audiences unable to attend in person to watch online.
