On February 28, the 2026 Luhe Lantern Festival Music Festival was held at the Youth Park in Luhe County, Shanwei City, Guangdong Province, serving as a high-energy finale to the Chinese New Year celebrations.

The event's highlight was a fusion of classical elegance and modern innovation. While the Symphony Wind Orchestra from Shenzhen Technology University performed the Voice of Spring Waltz, the conductor's podium was occupied by a robot. Making its debut as a "band leader", the robot's precise movements left the audience spellbound. "It's incredibly trendy and innovative," noted Mr. Ye, a tourist who traveled from Guangzhou specifically for the event. "I never expected to see a robot conducting an orchestra here in Luhe".
The music festival is the latest win for Luhe's booming 2026 travel market. From drone shows and kite carnivals to this tech-driven musical feast, the local government, in collaboration with Shenzhen Technology University and Guangdong's anti-poverty project teams, is successfully leveraging culture to stimulate consumption and vitality in the region.
Data from Luhe shows that during the 2026 Chinese New Year holiday, the county welcomed nearly 1.5 million tourists, representing a 34.52% year-on-year increase. Its total tourism revenue reached 590 million yuan, also rising by 34.52%.
