Foshan's China Ceramic Creative Week blends kiln fire with new trends

On the evening of December 5, FU-PARK in Shiwan Meitao Bay, Chancheng District, Foshan, lit up with contemporary toys and creative energy as the 9th China Ceramic Creative Week 2025 opened.

The event brought together ceramists, trendy-toy IP creators, and global entrepreneurs to witness a dynamic fusion of "time-honored kiln fire" and contemporary trends.

The seven-day event offers a creative experience across Meitao Bay, showcasing globalization, diversity, industrial integration, trend culture, and technological innovation.

Meitao Bay's integrated ecosystem of "Industry + Art + Design + IP + Technology" was on full display throughout Creative Week. The event also marked the official launch of the "Lingnan Culture IP 100 Creative Center," accompanied by the signing of 11 major projects spanning kung fu IP development, ICH-inspired trend innovations, and more. Meanwhile, the "Hundred Museums, Hundred Exhibitions" initiative, anime-themed check-ins, and "Top Influencers Experiencing Ceramics" activities invited residents and visitors alike to explore the renewed appeal of ceramic culture.

The 13th "Shiwan Cup" International Grand Prix for Young Ceramic Sculpture and Architectural Ceramic Art was also presented on the opening day. An artwork titled X won the Special Grand Prize, while Blush and Bloom received First Prizes. Innovators from Poland, Australia, and other countries were recognized as well, further elevating Shiwan's global profile as the "Ceramic Capital of Southern China." That evening, the Ceramic Maker Hall hosted the Creative Design Night, featuring Meitao Bay value-promotion activities and project signings, creating an effective platform for attracting creative talents and enterprises from around the world.

"Through the universal language of art and craftsmanship, Meitao Bay is connecting with cultures and traditions worldwide," said Luca Fois, professor and creative advisor at the Politecnico di Milano Design School.
