As the Chinese New Year began, Guangning County in Zhaoqing, Guangdong Province, came alive with a spectacular dragon and lion dance parade celebrating the new year.
Featuring 88 dragon and lion troupes stretching 2.3 kilometers through downtown streets, the event drew tens of thousands of residents and visitors, filling the city with vibrant energy and festive cheer.

Guangning is one of the "National Martial Arts Hometowns," where a rich martial arts tradition has flourished alongside dragon and lion dance culture for over two millennia. Nowadays, dragon and lion dancing remains a cherished local custom, with more than 800 troupes active across both urban and rural communities.
Inherited for more than 70 years, the Chinese New Year Dragon and Lion Parade has become Guangning's signature holiday celebration, showcasing the county's enduring cultural heritage and lively New Year spirit.
