Second Guangdong Jiaoling Art Field to kick off on September 23

The second Guangdong Jiaoling Art Field will kick off on September 23 in Jiaoling County, Meizhou City, Guangdong.

The Art Field, themed "All Things Coexist," brings together 43 artists and creative teams from diverse fields, including contemporary art, installation design, folk-inspired creativity and architectural aesthetics.

A new section dedicated to distinctive architectural design has also been added this year. The convergence of cutting-edge artistic ideas and the rich cultural heritage of the Hakka community will give rise to unique, site-specific land art created exclusively for Jiaoling.

According to artistic director Xie Rong, this year's Art Field remains committed to the core philosophy that "art grows from the land." The participating artists have ventured into Jiaoling's ancient villages, fields and landscapes to trace the local heritage and draw inspiration from the land, creating artworks infused with a strong sense of place.

Among them, An Xiaotong, creator of a hit work from the inaugural edition, returns this year with a fresh artistic approach. Moving beyond traditional bamboo- and wood-based practices, An shifts her focus to the everyday life and distinctive local produce of Jiaoling, exploring new forms of artistic expression.
