Huizhou hosts village gala highlighting intangible cultural heritage

Recently, the summer edition of Huizhou's Four Seasons Village Gala was held in Xialang Village, Changning Town, Boluo County, attracting nearly 500 villagers and tourists to enjoy performances.

Rooted in rural culture, most performers at the event were local villagers from Boluo County. The event featured a variety of performances, including square dancing, village songs, intangible cultural heritage dances, Cantonese opera, and talent shows.

One highlight was the Cantonese opera excerpt "White Snake: Taking Advantage of Good Weather," showcasing the unique rhyme and intonation of the Boluo Yuanzhou Cantonese opera style. Another standout was the intangible cultural heritage dance "Adding Lights," inspired by the "lighting" custom of Henghe Town.
