A traditional culture gala has opened in Zhanjiang, attracting crowds of residents and international visitors.
The event, titled the "Spring Festival Celebration Cup" Zhanjiang Intangible Cultural Heritage Gala, took place on February 20 at the city's sports center during the Chinese New Year holiday, filling the seaside city with a vibrant festive atmosphere.

The audience enjoyed a series of local heritage performances, including lion dances, a lighted lion show, the Donghai Island "human dragon" dance, Nuo dance, and puppet theatre.
Many international guests expressed their admiration. Shannon Amika Lalla from South Africa described the gala as a lively showcase of Zhanjiang's culture and hoped the city would become a meeting place for diverse cultures.

Saleem Muhammad Asmat Ullah from Pakistan, who arrived four months ago, found the lion dance unforgettable and plans to invite friends and family to visit.
Amoah Kwaku, a teacher from Ghana who has lived in Zhanjiang for nine years, brought his family to experience the festival. A Nigerian volunteer, Sam, expressed his hope that the next generation will learn about and carry on Chinese traditions.
