Shanwei in Guangdong Province saw a busy tourism market during the National Day holiday, with coastal attractions, cultural activities and sports events offering visitors a mix of seaside scenery, local culture, food and leisure.
The city received about 2.7 million tourist visits from October 1 to 4, including 1.58 million overnight visits. Its A-rated tourist attractions and provincial-level tourism resorts received 178,400 visits on October 5.
Throughout the holiday, the city staged 66 cultural, tourism and sports events, featuring traditional performances, intangible cultural heritage showcases, night markets, concerts and basketball games.
