The 2026 Yunfu Yunan's seedless wampee flower viewing and hiking season officially kicked off in Yunan County on March 14. Centered around a 14-kilometer eco-hiking route, the event allowed participants to experience the beauty of the mountains and rivers, witness the transformations of rural life, and embrace a healthy lifestyle. Innovative features, such as the IP interaction of Under the Wampee Tree and performances of intangible cultural heritage, were also included.

The hiking route began at the World Wampee Park (世界黄皮公园) in Jiancheng Town and ended at Longgang Village in Guixu Town. Along the way, three themed rest stops were set up. The Modao Mountain Heritage Site Interactive Area (磨刀山遗址科普互动区) offered hands-on experiences of the origins of Lingnan civilization. The Xijiang Scenic Area (西江风情区) showcased riverside charm through fun mini-games. The Nanjiang Ancient Charm Area (南江古韵区) highlighted the essence of Nanjiang culture with ancient architecture check-in points. Each stop also provided a gourmet tasting area, where participants could recharge and enjoy local specialties such as Baihua Wampee Chicken (百花黄皮鸡) and Liantan Stuffed Tofu (连滩酿豆腐).

The highlight of the event was its deep integration with the local short drama Under the Wampee Tree. Participants could collect themed stamps representing the main characters at the three rest stops. Those who completed the collection could join a lucky draw at the finish line to win prizes, including tickets to a private screening or discount vouchers for stores. In the afternoon, the director and lead actors also interacted with the audience during the cultural tourism carnival held at Dawang Mountain National Forest Park (大王山国家森林公园), alongside performances of intangible cultural heritage such as the Helou Dance.

After the hike, Longgang Village in Guixu Town hosted a local market featuring premium products such as seedless Wampee juice and Wampee paste. The afternoon cultural tourism carnival at Dawang Mountain National Forest Park combined performances of intangible cultural heritage with an outdoor screening of Under the Wampee Tree, a feast for the eyes and palate.
