A group of illustrators and comic artists from various APEC economies embarked on a tour of Guangdong on July 27, drawing inspiration for new artworks on the province's development, cultural heritage and connections with the Asia-Pacific region.
The artists from economies including Russia, Japan, Singapore and Indonesia are participating in the "APEC Vision, Guangdong Impressions" program. During the tour, they will travel across Guangdong and create illustrations and comics inspired by the province's innovation, manufacturing strength, green development and regional cooperation.
The artists' first stop was Huacheng Square, one of Guangzhou's landmark urban areas, where they explored the city's skyline and modern architecture as part of their creative process.
The initiative aims to present Guangdong's economic progress and cultural identity from an international artistic perspective, while promoting people-to-people exchanges across the Asia-Pacific through illustration and comics.
After their Guangdong tour, the artists will create illustrations and comics based on their experiences. The completed works will be collected and displayed at an offline exhibition in September, offering the public an international perspective on Guangdong's development, industries and cultural landscape.
