A growing number of international tourists chose to spend the Chinese New Year holiday in Zhaoqing, a historic city in southern China's Guangdong province, participating in local festivities and cultural activities.

During the holiday period, visitors from abroad enjoyed watching lion and dragon dance parades along Songcheng Qilou Street, an area renowned for its covered walkways and traditional architecture. The vibrant scenes, adorned with red lanterns and accompanied by percussion performances, were part of a local intangible cultural heritage event.

Foreign tourists also took part in various activities, such as wearing Hanfu, a traditional Chinese attire, while strolling near Xinghu Lake, where early spring blossoms were in full bloom. At night, many gathered near the ancient Song Dynasty City Wall and Piyun Tower to watch a spectacular light show projected onto the historical structures.
Spending Chinese New Year in China has become an emerging trend for some overseas travelers. Zhaoqing, with its blend of cultural heritage and natural beauty, is one of the destinations attracting foreigners.
The city, considered one of the birthplaces of Lingnan culture, has been actively promoting its tourism offerings to international audiences. Local authorities have announced plans to continue developing cultural tourism, optimizing services for international visitors, and expanding global exchange channels.
