Discover Bruce Lee's hometown through food and folk traditions

In Jun'an, the hometown of martial arts legend Bruce Lee in Shunde, Foshan, a traditional parade offers visitors a taste of local culture—and plenty of warm hospitality.

Residents and local businesses offer free water, herbal tea, fruit and pastries along the parade route.

On October 21, Cangmen Village came alive with drums, cymbals, colorful banners and ceremonial palanquins during the annual Guandi and Houwang Parade. With a history of more than 170 years, the celebration is a provincial-level intangible cultural heritage item in Guangdong.

Along the parade route, residents welcomed visitors with free bottled water, herbal tea, fresh fruit and local snacks. One family even prepared roast pig and steaming bowls of pork offal congee to share with the crowds.
