The 2025 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Music Season (GBAMS) concluded on August 17 at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen), after three days of performances, competitions, and exchanges.
Nearly 1,000 young musicians from cities across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), as well as from Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, and other provinces, participated in national showcases featuring piano, vocal, traditional Chinese music, Western instruments, and pop. They also took part in award ceremonies, concerts, outdoor flash mob performances, lectures, and masterclasses.
Highlights included a gala concert where youth performers shared the stage with renowned artists and a conference on music education. More than 600 music teachers attended the conference, with Ye Xiaogang, chairman of the China Musicians Association and founding dean of CUHK-Shenzhen's School of Music, addressing the event via video link.
Launched four months ago, GBAMS aims to foster cultural collaboration in the Greater Bay Area while nurturing young talent. It also extended its reach through public benefit programs, donating instruments and learning materials to rural schools in Huizhou, Meizhou, and Shanwei.
