On September 25, local time, at the first Teochew Festival in Greece, the Chaoxiang Yingge Dance Troupe from Chaozhou made its Athens debut, presenting a lively Yingge Dance flash mob during a float parade through the city.
Dressed in traditional costumes, the troupe performed at Athens landmarks, including the Panathenaic Stadium, the Parthenon and Syntagma Square. With powerful drumbeats and energetic movements, the performance attracted crowds of local residents and tourists.
The Yingge Dance showcased the vitality of Chaozhou's intangible cultural heritage and offered Greek audiences a closer look at the distinctive charm of Chinese culture.
Coinciding with the Mid-Autumn Festival, the performance brought the powerful drumbeats of Chaozhou's intangible cultural heritage to Athens, echoing celebrations in Chaozhou, thousands of miles away.
