From August 15 to 27, the 2025 Southern China Book Fair Gaozhou Branch is being held in Gaozhou, Maoming, to promote reading habits among the public and enhance the city’s cultural character.
The event adopts a "1+1+N" model, with the Gaozhou Library serving as the main venue, alongside multiple bookstores and over 500 urban and rural reading spaces. A total of 2,335 cultural activities are being organized. On the opening day, activities such as the "Firefly Storytelling Sessions," "Book-Themed Clay Crafts," and creative markets attracted a large number of readers, particularly young people.
Gaozhou Xinhua Bookstore launched themed book exhibitions and special events, including meet-and-greet sessions with local authors, anti-bullying legal lectures, and traditional cultural experiences. Additionally, online and offline promotional campaigns were rolled out to boost public enthusiasm for book purchases and reading.
Furthermore, the library will host over 20 more activities in late August, including intangible cultural heritage experiences, classic book readings, and public convenience services, continuing to foster a strong atmosphere of "Reading Gaozhou."
