The "2026 Happy Chinese New Year—Moving Reunion Dinner" Chaozhou special event was held from February 11 to 13 in Frankfurt, Germany. A team of Chaozhou cuisine master chefs brought authentic banquets and signature snacks to present the essence of the food culture of Chaozhou, a UNESCO City of Gastronomy, to more than 400 guests from government, business, education, and cultural circles.

On February 11, the event featured a formal sit-down banquet showcasing a 12-course Chaozhou reunion dinner imbued with auspicious meanings. On February 13, a more relaxed buffet spotlighted classic Chaozhou snacks such as braised goose, beef balls, and red peach cakes.

Set against the backdrop of melodious traditional Chinese music, the fragrant steam of Chaozhou Gongfu tea curled through the air as the flavors of Chaozhou cuisine unfolded course by course. From Chaozhou braised goose to pan-fried red peach cakes, the dishes offered German guests not only distinctive tastes but also the exquisite craftsmanship and profound cultural meanings behind Chinese cuisine.

Zhang Youting, Executive Vice President of the Chaozhou Catering Association, said that the Frankfurt event was more than a chance to share authentic Chaozhou cuisine; it was also intended to serve as a promising start to cultural exchanges between Chaozhou and Frankfurt.
Huang Yiyang, Consul General of China in Frankfurt, stated that food culture is an important bridge for cultural exchanges between the peoples of the two countries. He noted that the feast offered a memorable gustatory experience and would help China and Germany come closer by deepening cultural exchanges and people-to-people ties.
