Maoming Binhai New Area has established the Lady Xian Hometown Tourist Scenic Area, creating a base for exchanges between domestic and international communities. This year, two groups of more than 60 overseas Chinese from Australia have already visited Lady Xian's hometown for "root-seeking trips."
Lady Xian (冼夫人), a renowned female hero, embodies the spirit of "acting with a sincere heart" (唯用一好心), which is deeply rooted in the ethos of Maoming, known as the "City of Goodwill." According to statistics, there are over 2,000 temples dedicated to Lady Xian worldwide. Her inspiring spirit has long transcended the regions of Guangdong, Guangxi, and Hainan, spreading far and wide across Southeast Asia along with the footsteps of overseas Chinese.

Now Maoming is developing a new hub for cooperation between Guangdong and overseas Chinese from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. In terms of industry, it is harnessing the agglomeration effects of industries such as green chemicals, hydrogen energy, and port logistics to vigorously develop into a demonstration zone for industrial collaboration with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Regarding people-to-people exchanges, it is promoting more cultural exchanges and educational cooperation.
In May this year, over 50 representatives from 10 well-known enterprises in the Greater Bay Area, along with the Hong Kong Small and Medium Enterprises Association for Economic and Trade Promotion, visited the Green Chemicals and Hydrogen Energy Industrial Park in Maoming Binhai New Area. The representatives noted that the new area boasts significant advantages in deep-water ports and strong industrial agglomeration effects, and the efficient services provided by the local government have further strengthened their resolve to invest.
